NYT has a decent article with accompanying video this morning on the changing role of teacher-librarians. I could mention some quibbles, but basically I would have to go along with the old canard about "there is no bad publicity" in this case and be happy for the exposure. Share it with your friends and be sure to let me know what you think.
3 others added their two bits.:
Librarians rock.
It is hard to do it all. I try to teach classes, but it's very hard. In the end, I had to decide what my most important function was, and that is getting books to children. If I fit in a little more, it's good, but every day I fulfill my primary function! This librarian is a wonder and her school should be proud to have her!
Thanks kiri8!
I agree, Ms. Yingling. When I'm a librarian, I'll try to remember your Prime Directive! Thanks
